In My Trek Back Across Texas

This will for sure be a short & sweet blog/food rage. 

Rage #1: 

StarBeau's in Comanche, Tx showed to me by Shannon on our way back to College Station last night! Cute, homestyle cooking in a historical building... doesn't get much better than that. Unfortunately I was so brain-dead from the 7 1/2 hour drive (through a massive thunderstorm) that I didn't think to take pictures of the food... or the inside; however, I did get one of the back with the strangest looking clouds I'd ever seen in my life! Point of rant - if you're ever driving through Comanche, Tx stop and eat at Star Beau's... even if you aren't hungry... totally worth it!

Massive Thunderstorm: produced a tornado & golf-sized hail... luckily we were 30 minutes ahead of the worst of the storm... Good time? No, totally God.

Rage #2:

Butterfly Cake Bites out of San Antonio. Ok I admit the name isn't incredibly clever and the idea isn't a totally new one (very similar to Oreo balls) but the things themselves are like... lil bites of heaven. I actually liked them 10x more than Oreo balls because they're not ridiculously sweet. Annnnnddd, during April and until May 25th ALL the proceeds from this business are going to the Jeff Davis County Relief Fund (crazy wild/brushfires in the Fort Davis Mts here in Texas). My sister brought home: Orangesicle, Strawberry Lemonade and Chocolate Mint. 

Rage #3:

LIGHTROOM. Its $100 cheaper than Adobe Photoshop CS5 (& cooler than CS4 in my mind), aaannnnd with a nifty student deal its only $89... not too shabby; I downloaded the free 30 day trial tonight and its "totally rad". Like photoshop it has all the basic/geeky photo editing and you can download "presets" that other people have made/saved  I've been messing around all night (every photographer's guilty pleasure). Messed around with two photos from this past weekend:
